Warframe 101: Affinity

In Warframe, you level up a lot of things. Your Warframe, your primary, secondary, melee weapons, and your companions. To do this, you need Affinity.

Affinity is the experience points you gain when you use your Warframe ability, weapons and your companions. You may think that this is a simple system but there is a something that makes it more complicated than it needs to be.

Typically, you would have your Warframe, primary, secondary, melee and companion to accompany you in missions. They all gain Affinity overtime and eventually rank up. However, if you want to farm Affinity as fast as you can, you need to have a method.

The bad thing about Warframe's Affinity system is that maxed out weapons still leech Affinity from missions meaning that it cuts down whatever your non-maxed out weapons can get.

If you want to rank up your Warframe faster, spam their abilities. Choose an ability that you can cast over and over again like Hydroid's Tempest Barrage or Tentacle Swarm and you can rank up your Warframe faster. This method is harder for other Warframes such as Loki but it is still a more efficient method.

In terms of weapons, if you want to focus all your Affinity to one weapon then unequip everything else. If you want your Boltor to rank up faster, you need to remove your secondary and melee weapons and your companion. If you are going Solo, jump in a Survival Infestation Mission with a tanky/survivalist Warframe such as Rhino and stay as long as you can. However, it is better to go into Hydron in Sedna in Public Games to maximize the bonus Affinity you get from other players.

For companions, I haven't done anything other than have them around. Your first Kubrow and Sentinel will be a good buddy to have in the earlier missions and just have them around to help you out. Let them grow with you.

This will also help you rise up in the Mastery Ranks. As each new piece of equipment you level up add to your Mastery Rank Affinity. However, those leeched by maxed out equipment will not.

This is the method that I learned from my senpai in our clan and I just wanted to share them with you.
