BioWare are known to make epic-scale games such Baldur's Gate, Mass Effect, Dragon Age and Knights of the Old Republic to name a few. Now, they want to explore.
They want to venture into smaller and "experimental games". They just showcased "Anthem" which is also a big game. On a recent interview though, both BioWare's General Manager Casey Hudson and Anthem Executive Producer Mark Darrah said that their aim now is to work on a bunch of smaller projects.
Casey Hudson stated this:
They said that they want to continue doing big things but at the same time, they also want to work on a few experiments. It is akin to them making blockbuster movies but also working on smaller, independent films. They want to achieve a middle ground between triple A games and indie film. They want to make a "triple A indie game".
What do you guys think? Do you expect something great in a smaller package from BioWare?

I think some of the things that are coming, in the way that we're doing things in BioWare and the way that EA is working and the industry is going, I think it is starting to afford the opportunity for us to do some things that are more experimental.
